As Post Room Operative / Porter, you’ll be part of a team that’s doing incredible things – for ourselves, for the partners we work with, and for a truly sustainable future. What you’ll do: Receive, sort and distribute all incoming mail as it arrives Distribute mail to the appropriate places within the building Maintain records of incoming and outgoing mail. Ensure delivery of outgoing mail to couriers the client and Royal Mail. Perform data entry activities Maintain security by following procedures, be aware of, and report any suspicious activity Produce reports as required by the Post Room Supervisor Maintain adequate mailroom supplies Keep mailroom clean and tidy Answer and address incoming enquiries in a timely and polite manner Ensure the mailroom is left secure at the end of your shift What you’ll need: You'll have previous experience in a similar role, or able to demonstrate relevant transferable skills. You'll be able to work efficiently in a small team, operating accurately and to tight daily deadlines. You will have excellent communication skills in a variety of written and verbal formats, and able to communicate with a wide range of people, including internal and external customers or contacts. Manual handling of mail and relevant equipment is an essential part of this role, for which training will be provided.
