Would you like to join a friendly, dynamic & supportive service with scope to work within Exeter Community Rehab (ECR) and Urgent Community Response (UCR) based in one hub in Central & East Exeter? We are seeking a Band 6 substantive Physiotherapist to join our team.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients to stay healthy, when they need it most.
Job responsibilities
We aim to provide high quality care to maximise independence and quality of life at home through a strength-based approach. This is completed within a supportive network of experienced therapists offering a structured induction, time to shadow other community teams, peer support groups and opportunities for career development.
The focus of rehabilitation is paramount to patients which we are proud to support through individual patient assessments and treatments, with rehabilitation groups for strength and balance. We provide a variety of settings for patient treatments including within their own homes, care homes and gym spaces (NHS and Leisure Centres). In addition, we carry out virtual assessments and treatments facilitating the plan for the NHS digital transformation.
Your caseload involves a variety of patients to be seen, including but not limited to:
* Working with patients with long-term conditions including frailty
* Neurological conditions
* Respiratory conditions
* Trauma, orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions
* Moving and handling including equipment prescription
* Patients in Short Term Rehabilitation Beds within Residential and Nursing Homes
There will be an opportunity to provide clinical supervision to rotational staff members as well as clinical support workers. The successful candidate will be an autonomous practitioner who is confident with lone working. You will require excellent communication skills, with the ability to prioritise, problem solve and be a team player who is adaptable to change.
Working Pattern: Typical working pattern is Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm. However, 8.00am - 8.00pm across 7 day working is required to support with the UCR function which is completed on a rota basis.
