Accounts Assistant role with great promotion prospects in a strong, long established business.
Palgrave Ltd is one of the leading importers and wholesale distributors of toys and beach goods in the UK. The seasonal nature of the business makes it a particularly interesting and varied place to work. Our strong, long established (50 years this year!) family run business is looking to recruit an intelligent and ambitious ‘Accounts Assistant’ to join our team.
As a business we have had very positive results supporting team members with great potential to grow from entry level positions into management roles. We are currently looking to recruit someone into our accounts function who is keen to learn and progress, with anticipated progression to ‘Accounts Administrator’ and potentially ‘Finance Manager’ in the future for the right candidate.
This permanent full-time position will encompass a wide range of accounts responsibilities for which full training will be provided. Initially focusing on inputting invoices, payments, receipts, etc this role will also be involved in supporting bank reconciliations, cost calculations, VAT returns, paying suppliers, posting journals etc. As the successful candidate demonstrates their competence they will have the opportunity to take more ownership of these areas of accounts with potential to be involved with management accounts, cashflow and P&L planning etc as they progress in the business.
Clear training and support will be provided at each stage and the rate of progression will depend on the candidate and the experience/abilities they bring to the role.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a background in accountancy practice who are looking for a move into industry, or for someone currently in an Accounts Assistant or Accounts Administrator position who is looking for a move which offers great promotion prospects.
