Reports into: Head of environmental sustainability
Location: Hybrid - A blend of working from home and your nominated hub office, we have hubs in London, Bristol, Manchester and Oxford. Specific patterns for working in the office are not mandated, and the frequency of time worked in the office is agreed with your manager. Meeting in person is something we value so you may need to travel on occasion to any of our hub offices.

This is a key role where you will play a pivotal part in the delivery of Jisc’s Sustainability Strategy and the implementation and delivery of an ISO14001 accredited environmental management system (EMS). You will work with key stakeholders to develop the EMS and relevant sustainability policies ensuring our policies are up to date and relevant and where required support across other sustainability initiatives.
Your role will be critical in keeping our sustainability programme on track, helping the workstreams have the impact we intend them to and maximising the sustainability communications and engagement opportunities.
Other responsibilities will include:
* Ensure close liaison with key stakeholders, including staff, members and contractors to ensure relevant activities are captured, monitored and reported.
* Develop, maintain and promote policies, strategies and other plans or policies relating to environmental sustainability, and more broadly sustainability.
* Keep up to date with applicable legislation and regulatory compliance, ensure the organisation is compliant with environmental and social standards.
* Develop and maintain relationships with internal teams and external service providers and partners to support sustainability initiatives.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Experience in developing and delivering an ISO14001 accredited environmental management system.
* Experience and expertise in sustainability policy creation and delivery.
* A passion for and understanding of sustainability issues impacting business and society, particularly in relation to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
* Ability to work with data and manage information, create reports, and present information in a clear and engaging way.
* A skilled communicator who is experienced at adapting styles to build effective working relationships with stakeholders across functions and externally.
* An ability to analyse complex data and present in a user-friendly manner.
