Financial Planner
The Role: I am recruiting a Financial Planner on behalf of Yellowtail, a leading Financial Planning firm based in beautiful offices in Exeter (EX1). The successful Financial Planner will either be an experienced Financial Planner / Financial Adviser or a highly competent Paraplanner with significant client-facing experience, ready to take ownership of an established portfolio of frequently complex, HNW clients, providing fully holistic, independent lifestyle financial planning.
The Person: The successful Financial Planner (Financial Advisor, Financial Adviser, Senior Paraplanner) will be a warm relationship builder who is service-oriented and capable of analysing and addressing clients' financial needs and goals. You will have strong technical knowledge in most aspects of financial planning (including tax-efficient investment planning, pensions and retirement planning, protection and estate planning) and will be responsible for developing comprehensive lifetime planning strategies and providing proactive and ongoing advice to a diverse client base. The successful Financial Planner will be ambitious and aspirational, keen to take on responsibility and contribute to the growth of a progressive firm while being invested in, valued, and rewarded accordingly (including receiving the support and funding required to become Chartered, if you are not already).
Salary and Benefits: Basic salary £60,000 to £80,000 (dependant on experience) + bonus + pension + continued professional development + death in service + 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
Home working and flexibility: The Financial Planner role will be based in the Exeter office, but we are happy to facilitate hybrid working and flexible or part-time working arrangements if required.

* Client Advisory: Provide expert advice on financial planning, including tax-efficient investments, pensions, protection, and estate planning.
* Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, whether online or in person, ensuring the highest standard of service delivery.
* Client Analysis: Assess clients' financial situations, identifying their needs and goals, and develop tailored lifetime financial plans, utilising Voyant for cashflow modelling.
* Compliance and Regulation: Ensure adherence to all Compliance, Legal, Statutory, and Regulatory requirements relevant to financial planning.
* Professional Development: Stay current with industry standards and regulations, committing to continuous professional development.
* Technology Utilisation: Utilise digital tools, such as Microsoft Teams, CRM systems, and AI, to enhance client service delivery.
Skills and Experience:
* 3 years + client-facing experience, gained as a Financial Planner / Financial Adviser or a Senior Paraplanner.
* Experience in all areas of financial planning including cashflow forecasting, tax-efficient investment planning, pensions and retirement planning, protection and estate planning.
* Diploma in Financial Planning (Dip PFS, Level 4) and either Chartered or keen to work towards becoming a Certified/Chartered Financial Planner (support with this will be provided).
* Emotionally intelligent, a keen listener, and strong communicator, capable of articulating complex financial concepts clearly and a warm relationship builder, demonstrating a caring, client-centric approach.
* A motivated and proactive self-starter and a collaborative team player, comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
* Flexible, adaptable to change and happy to travel to client meetings as required.
* Quality focused, analytical with excellent attention to detail.
* A competent networker, capable of identifying and pursuing new opportunities and keen to contribute to the continued growth and success of the business.
