Mundesley Medical Centre is looking for a healthcare assistant (HCA) who is prepared to increase their skills in health promotion to work as health and wellbeing coach. The role is offered on a full or part time basis (25 - 37 hrs) over 4 or 5 days per week. Main duties of the role: Carry out base-line observations such as pulse, oximetry, temperature, blood pressure and ECGs, recording findings accurately. Wound care, venepuncture, phlebotomy checks and administering of medicines and vaccines. Ensure that all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session. Update patient health records. Ensure that medical supplies are in stock. Act as a chaperone where required. Assist GP during the performance of minor operations. Communicate with patients, relatives, and carers including providing valuable health promotion and education. New patient health checks. About the Candidate All applicants should have the following skills, experience and qualifications: Essential - these are a requirement to be considered for the role: Successful completion of the Care Certificate, or willingness to undertake, as indicated by the CQC. Experience of working within a GP practice or equivalent. Strong clinical skills including venepuncture and wound care. Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills. Confidential manner with a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues. Ability to work independently, determining own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Strong organisational and time management skills.
