We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse within the Renal Unit.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting and monitoring of standards.
He/she will support in the management responsibility for a team of nurses and will have specific responsibility for providing professional support and specialist nursing advice.
The post holder will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care and will be designated to take charge of the renal unit on a regular basis.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
1. Registered Nurse with 18 months experience
2. Supervisor and Assessor Training
3. Management/team leading qualification
4. Leadership (LEO) course or equivalent
Knowledge and Experience
1. Experience of Renal medicine/Renal Unit setting
2. Management experience and/or experience of leading a team
Skills and Knowledge
1. Broad knowledge base
2. Ability to demonstrate evidence of applying theory to practice
3. Ability to lead and work effectively within a team
4. Good interpersonal skills which nurture effective working relationships with staff
5. Ability to role model good practice and appropriately challenge poor practice
6. Accurate document presentation and attention to detail
7. Renal experience
