Join the ICT Programme and Planning Team and help to deliver exciting ICT transformation to both Norfolk and Suffolk constabularies. You’ll be managing, administering, and developing Microsoft Project Server to support the delivery of projects and programmes to Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies as well as the ICT department.
What’s involved
The ICT Programme Support role is suitable for those who wish to primarily work from home, although you will need to visit the head offices in Norfolk and Suffolk on occasion.
The role of the ICT Programme Support Officer involves:
* Managing the support and administration of Microsoft Project Server, including creating projects, ensuring resources and project plans are up to date, performing quality assurance, configuring the system, and dealing with ICT colleagues and third-party support to resolve issues.
* Analysis and interpretation of the resource management and project planning data to ensure accuracy and identify resourcing capability and the future pipeline of work.
* Training and advising Project and Team managers on the correct use of Project Server, and the recording of project and programme documentation including risk and issues logs.
* Determining the project and programme reporting timeline in line with ICT and corporate deadlines.
* Accurate portfolio reporting on a frequent basis for team, department, and organisational meetings, as well as ad hoc requests for reports.
* Day to day management of programme office, including management of contract and agency technical resources.
* Maintenance of change management process from request, through approval and assignment, and ultimately to project delivery.
* Organising and supporting meetings, programme boards, and workshops through the preparation of documents and recording of minutes and actions.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for an applicant who has:
* Previous experience of working in a Project Management Office in a large organisation, working in both technical and organisational change environments.
* A project management qualification such as PRINCE2 or similar, and experience of ITIL.
* Experience of using resource management and project reporting tools, especially Microsoft Project Server, and effectively working with project and resource plans.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels within and external to the organisation.
* The capability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, working under own initiative with limited supervision to pre-determined deadlines.
* The capacity to operate within a sensitive/confidential environment, maintaining integrity and professionalism at all times.
* An ability to travel between Norfolk and Suffolk.
An experience of policing at local, regional, or national levels will be helpful in this role, as will experience of the public sector.

The residency requirement for this role is five years.
This post is offered on a 24 month Fixed Term Contract.
Hours of work are 37 hours per week.
