Working Full time: 37.5 hours per week
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Sonographer who can provide professional clinical and operational leadership for the Ultrasound service at Countess of Chester Hospital to join our friendly hard working ultrasound team.
The department undertakes seven day working and the successful candidate would be expected to undertake evening and weekend duties where required.
Applicants must hold a recognised ultrasound qualification (PgCert, PgDip or Direct-Entry Masters) and be eligible to work in the United Kingdom with HCPC/NMC/equivalent registration.
This post will involve managing and leading the Ultrasound service:
1. Providing professional clinical and operational leadership.
2. Being responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the Ultrasound service at Countess of Chester and Ellesmere Port Hospitals, and GP community satellite units and all its team members.
3. Performing a lead role in the implementation of service development and the provision of a high quality ultrasound service, developing and commissioning service provision whilst monitoring performance against agreed targets.
4. Remaining clinically active by participating in the ultrasound staff duty rota, scanning and independently reporting own workload of patients, providing written reports to the referring clinician.

2. Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility.
3. Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.
The Trust employs over 6258 staff and provides acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000.
