Our client is an independent colour-coated steel supplier based in the West Midlands, servicing customers across the UK and Ireland and they’re proud of their position as a leading steel stockholder holding the widest range of colour-coated steel products in the UK & Ireland.
Job Description:
The sales team is the engine that drives the business, and as Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our client drives a profitable and sustainable order book and sales pipeline. The successful candidate will generate sales, develop business growth opportunities, maintain exceptional client relationships, and manage customer accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Professionally represent our client with a comprehensive understanding of the product portfolio.
* Create regional sales plans and quotas in alignment with business objectives.
* Generate qualified leads and sales for the region.
* Develop a strong business network to increase profitable revenue.
* Price jobs profitably to maximize customer revenue.
* Work with the Head of Marketing to develop and deliver the marketing strategy.
* Support the operations team with day-to-day operations.
* Proactively report on regional sales results.
* Prepare and review the annual budget for the identified region.
* Analyse regional market trends and discover new opportunities for growth.
* Address potential problems and suggest prompt solutions.
* Suggest new services, products, and innovative sales techniques to increase customer satisfaction.
* Serve as the point of contact for stakeholders in the region.
Personal Profile:
* Good understanding of steel products and the steel industry.
* Ability to measure and analyse key performance indicators (ROI and KPIs).
* Familiar with CRM software.
* Understand production operations.
* Ability to generate reports and analyse market trends and data.
* Ability to work well with all levels within a team.
* Availability to travel as needed.
* Familiar with business social media channels.
* Excellent communication skills and strong negotiation ability.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Proactive problem-solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
