Advanced Teacher, Maths, Southend Campus
We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Maths Teacher with high-level technical abilities to contribute to innovating Maths delivery and enable the College to become a centre of excellence. Reporting to the Quality Improvement & Education Managers, you will be responsible for implementing teaching strategies to enable students to develop skills in Maths and achieve high grades.
The successful applicant will be passionate about Maths and have the ability to inspire interest and curiosity in students, enabling them to develop either basic, intermediate, or advanced skills in using mathematical calculations. They will inspire students to appreciate that maths is a part of everyday life and that practical maths skills will be essential in their chosen careers and work environment.
You will be responsible for teaching Maths to at least GCSE Level, A Level, and potential Degree level, acting as a role model and working with other teaching staff to develop their technical teaching skills. Our students join us from a variety of education backgrounds, including secondary education, home education, or adult education, where they may not have achieved the basic level of a Grade C or Grade 4/5 Maths as a standard qualification.
Some students require Maths qualifications to progress to the next level of education, while others need the qualification to advance in their work life or chosen career.
