About the Role
Sitting within the Council's GIS Team, in the Growth & City Development Department, the role will assist with the collection, management, visualisation and dissemination of data and information with the corporate GIS (Geographical Information System) and departmental systems, with a particular focus on delivering the technical statutory and contractual functions of the Department.
The role will also support the management and maintenance of the Council's related address and street databases, ensuring accuracy and currency, and help support Street Naming and Numbering activities.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Knowledge and experience of the principles and practices of spatial applications such as Desktop GIS (preferably ESRI)
2. Knowledge and experience of the principles and practices of data management
3. Experience of working with large volumes of data, data inputting and data manipulation
4. Ability and experience of working towards and adhering to legislation, standards and policy, ideally in relation to data and addresses
5. Working in a technical environment, ability to quickly learn and use new software applications
6. Ability to accurately and efficiently achieve targets and deadlines and prioritise work appropriately
