The Jamie Oliver Group is growing.In spring 2025, were launching a flagship cookery school and cafe with John Lewis & Partners in their Oxford Street store!As such, our team is expanding, and were looking to grow our Front of House team.
Youre here to be part of the best-in-class cafe and cookery school.Youll be working closely with the General Manager and be responsible for delivering KPIs, leading and motivating the cafe team and overseeing compliance. In addition to that you will welcome guests in the cafe and the cookery school and be versed in the coffee and food offerings and cookery classes experience.

The Cafe and Cookery School supervisor needs to be a people person with a big smile and an even bigger wealth of knowledge about the specialty coffee, food menu, drinks list, and Jamie Oliver Cookery School as a whole. You need to be ambitious and have a desire to grow with the business. The Cafe and Cookery School in John Lewis is our first step in the national expansion, and there are real opportunities for growth and development. Youll have fantastic attention to detail and relish the challenge of working quickly and efficiently under pressure while maintaining sky-high standards of presentation and Health and Safety. You need to have a hands-on approach and the ambition to develop and learn. You are a team player who leads from the front and a genuine brand ambassador for the Cookery School and all things Jamie Oliver.
Operational Excellence
You are responsible for shifts being run optimally.They must be efficient, effective, and professional:
* Supervise baristas, their espresso-making and milk texturing skills, and assist with training and development.
* Maintain stock levels for the cafe when on shift and work closely with the General Manager to manage stock accounting.
* Setup and close down the cafe according to JOCS standards.
* Ensure cashing up and reporting procedures are followed.
* Efficient use of resources. Ensure food waste is kept to a minimum, guest recovery and promotions are recorded correctly and monitored.
* Understand the value of specialty coffee, assist with daily dialing in and espresso machine maintenance.
* Be proud of and keep the cafe display and dining room clean and sparkling. Any maintenance issues are reported and actioned.
* You will understand the importance of, and pride yourself on, keeping the back of house and front of house areas clean and organised.
Food Safety, Hygiene & Health and Safety
You are responsible and accountable for our exceptionally high regard for food safety, HACCP, H&S, and hygiene.
* Maintain the required Health and Safety and Jamies standards.
* Work to the highest Food Safety Standards.
* Follow all HACCP guidelines and health and safety requirements.
* Hygiene and presentation.Youll have a high level of respect and care for the businesses, and your own hygiene and presentation.
Excellent Guest Service
* Welcoming & Hosting. You are the host for the Cafe and Cookery School.
* Work alongside the team and serve guests their favorite drinks and food, and assist the teaching chefs.
* Master the specialty coffee, drinks, and food menu and make them with delight.
* Be present on the floor at the Cafe and Cookery School and ensure management presents at all times.
* Ensure guests have an experience that exceeds their expectations.
* Be versatile in Jamie Oliver Cafe and Cookery School's offerings and experience and pass this knowledge to the team and guests.

* The busiest time of our cafe and school is weekends - the role requires that you work weekend shifts.
* Working week: 20-42 hours on a flexible basis
