Amazon’s Singapore Fresh team is looking for a talented Vendor Manager for our Alcoholic Beverages Category (BWS). Our vision is to transform how our customers in Singapore shop grocery. We will achieve this by delivering a tech-led, seamless shopping experience for our customers. We will combine relevant selection, high quality, great availability and value, with convenience through ease of ordering and speed of delivery to win customers' trust.
In this role, you will seek to redefine how customers shop grocery in Singapore, building a best-in-class shopping experience for BWS products. You will be the main point of contact with Brands for the Fresh channel and will deal with top management of large brands as well as small manufacturers. You will be a passionate customer and category advocate within Amazon; possess strong negotiation and analytical skills, together with proven commercial knowledge and experience. The ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task is a must, together with excellent project management skills and laser-sharp attention to detail.
Key job responsibilities
1. Create and implement the overall business strategy for their vendors' business including managing vendor negotiations and peak periods.
2. Take a pivotal role in the Fresh business, helping to define and drive our strategy.
3. Act as the ‘business owner’ for their vendors' business, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business and P&L, this entails owning forecasting, monitoring and reporting on the business.
4. Manage selection through strong vendor relationships, including assessing market procurement conditions, recommending terms, and implementing procurement strategies.
5. Be responsible for the following areas of business management: promotional campaigns, support to in-stock management (in close relationship to our supply chain management team), product management, quality management and vendor performance communications.
6. Monitor and research industry and competitive trends to make the Amazon offering the best for the customer.
7. Become Subject Matter Expert in a particular area of strategic importance to the business.
Minimum Requirements
1. 3+ years of Excel experience
2. 5+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience
3. Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
4. Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership
5. Experience managing large data sets and utilizing them to drive performance and process improvements
6. Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
