We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and proactive individual to support a lady with a brain injury in the South Shields area.
You will support her with her rehabilitation programme, assist to increase her independence and provide support with community activities.
Post open to women only and employees need a proficient understanding and spoken capacity of the English language - GOR applies.
*We require Female Support Workers due to the occupational requirements of the client making this role compliant with Paragraph 1, Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010
What you'll be working:
* 20.25 hours per week (shifts to be discussed)
* This post may include evening, weekend shifts and occasional sleep in duties.
What you will be doing:
* Assist the client to exercise choice and control over their own lives as far as they are able in everyday matters but taking into consideration cognitive problems
* Liaise with and support the family as required
* Assist the client with personal care as needed
* Supporting the client to use local amenities such as shops and leisure facilities and attend community events
* Follow the service user plan as documented for the client
* Maintain accurate and confidential records
* Participate in manual handling procedures as specified for the client
* Maintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the case manager as appropriate
About you:
Essential
* You are reliable and professional - you value honesty and discretion.

* Availability and capability to work hours in rota.
* You are flexible and you work well under pressure.
Preferred
* Car owner with full clean driving licence and business use insurance.
* You have experience of supporting someone with a brain injury.
* Experience of working in the speciality of rehabilitation.
* Experience of working with the clients in their own home.
* Experience of one-to-one work with clients.
* Interest in walking dogs, shopping and being around children.

Qualified staff assess clients’ needs and offer individually designed case management and rehabilitation programmes. The company was established in 1994 and is now a successful rehabilitation and case management consultancy, working in close co-operation with the legal profession. We now have four offices employing around 80 staff. We manage over 400 support workers and provide services to just under 400 clients nationally.
JSP are not an employment agency, we help our clients to recruit their own support workers as part of our case management service, You will be employed directly by the client, however, JSP oversee all aspects of the clients care package on her behalf.
