If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Location: Runcorn Vocational Centre Type: Full-Time We are looking for a motivated and experienced HLTA to join a dynamic team at a vocational centre in Runcorn. The centre offers students the opportunity to gain qualifications in areas such as hair and beauty, construction, and more, setting them on a path to further education and successful careers. Key Responsibilities: Workshop Support: Spend 3 days a week providing hands-on support to students in their vocational workshops, assisting them in gaining practical skills and achieving qualifications. Student Support: For the remaining 2 days, focus on pupil intervention and support, working closely with students who need additional help to overcome barriers and succeed in their studies. Relationship Building: Develop strong, supportive relationships with students, helping them feel confident and capable in their learning environment. Collaboration: Work alongside teachers and vocational trainers to ensure that each student receives the guidance and support they need. Flexible Support: Adapt your approach to meet the varying needs of students, ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to excel. Ideal Candidate: Experience: Previous experience working with students who have struggled in mainstream schools, particularly in a vocational or alternative education setting. Practical Skills: An interest in or experience with vocational subjects such as hair and beauty, construction, or other hands-on disciplines. Dedication: A commitment to supporting students full-time, demonstrating reliability and a strong work ethic. Empathy & Patience: The ability to connect with students, understanding their unique challenges, and offering the encouragement they need to succeed. Adaptability: Flexibility to switch between workshop support and more targeted pupil intervention as needed. The right educator would have experience working in similar settings and be able to set examples in order for the students to reach their full potential.
