The Company:
We are working with a leading Contractor whose NW Regional Construction team would generally deliver projects for clients principally based around Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and Cheshire. Their turnover in the NW has grown year on year and is now comfortably above £200 Million. They take on projects valued up to £150 Million typically in the commercial, industrial, care, leisure, pharmaceutical, retail, education and residential sectors.They have grown consistently over the last 10 years developing some great relationships with both public and private sector clients, are very cash rich, have a great supply chain that they pay promptly (we know this from our own experience) and have a very experienced, knowledgeable and approachable management team.
The Role:
They are now keen to recruit a Design Manager to join their Regional Design team due to an excellent pipeline of projects due to start on site in 2025
The initial focus is on a new build apartment project based in Manchester.
Generally, you will be tasked with controlling design activity on up to 3 projects through the delivery phases.
You will provide advice on design risk to the commercial, planning, operations and client teams.
You will produce, agree and manage realistic design programs.
You will ensure the delivery team are working to the correct specifications.
You:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have worked as a Design Manager on construction projects similar to those mentioned above previously.
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily.
Commercially aware with an understanding of value engineering.
IT literate.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
