MCS Group are delighted to be working with a Large Public Sector Employer in County Antrim in finding an Environmental Health Officer to join the team. This role offers a 4 day working week, competitive salary and an opportunity to secure a longer contract in the role.
* 4 day working week - flexible with days!
* Generous annual leave allowance.
* Long term contract with possibility of extension.
* Salary - £38.5k (Pro-rata)
The Role:
* Conduct inspections, investigations, assessments, and activities across various environmental health functions, including public health, food safety, and housing.
* Take appropriate enforcement actions in line with legislation and professional guidance, including serving statutory notices and preparing for legal proceedings.
* Act as an expert witness and provide specialist advice and reports for legal, planning, and public health matters.
* Collaborate with external agencies, businesses, and working groups to support environmental health goals and service improvements.
* Contribute to planning reviews, public consultations, health campaigns, and reactive monitoring, including out-of-hours response.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures, support training initiatives, and carry out administrative and performance improvement duties.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will have the following, however this client will consider a candidate qualified by experience:
* Have a minimum of a degree in Environmental Health.
* Hold membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
* 1 years experience in a Public Sector organisation doing a similar role.
* Knowledge and understanding of current Environmental Health legislation.
* Stakeholder engagement skills with various people groups.
* A full and current Drivers License and access to form of transport.
