The Role:
As a Prevention & Enforcement Officer, you will be delivering an efficient and effective prevention and enforcement service throughout the Borough, to include but not restricted to:
* Issuing Penalty Charge Notices [PCN] within council car parks.
* A partnership approach to anti-social behaviour, gathering evidence for fly tipping, litter enforcement, undertaking investigations under the relevant dog fouling legislation for dog fouling enforcement and issuing Fixed Penalty Notices [FPN].
* Undertaking investigations into allegations of offences under the Environment Protection Act and Clean Neighbourhood’s and Environment Act. To include securing evidence through interviewing suspects, issuing FPN, and completing case papers to give evidence at Court.
* Undertaking targeted patrols in “hot spot” areas to tackle offences.
* Ensuring that abandoned vehicles are reported, investigated and removed.
* Acting as evidence gatherers to support potential action by HBC under the Anti-Social Behaviour and Police Act 2014 in relation to Community Protection Notices.
A background in enforcement would be an advantage, although not essential. Full training and uniform are provided, as is the support of a friendly team.
A full UK driving licence and use of own car for business is essential.

* Previous experience of working with the public.
* Able to work without direct supervision.
* Excellent communication skills – ability to listen to understand, reflect others’ input and adapt communication style to the audience in an effective way.
* Able to deal with conflict and unpredictable situations.
* To work closely with all internal service teams, including but not restricted to Customer Services.
* Confident, common-sense approach.
