Based within North Lanarkshire Council’s We Aspire College, opportunities have arisen for We Aspire College Support Assistants. In this post you will provide advice, information, support and practical assistance to children, young people and their families.
As a We Aspire College Support Assistant you will implement agreed plans with children, young people and their families, in partnership with colleagues and other agencies. Under the direction of the class teacher/instructor and/or senior management you will provide individual and group support for pupils allowing them to fully engage in their learning and you will facilitate, organise and support children and young people to take part in inclusive, meaningful, appropriate activities.
Minimum Requirements:
1. A qualification in Social Care for example SVQ Level 3 in Social Care, HNC in Social Care or equivalent is essential.
2. Experience of working with vulnerable young people & their families/carers.
3. Ability to remain calm and work under pressure.
4. Compassion with a commitment to working with children, young people and their families to achieve positive outcomes.
5. Membership in the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to commencing in this role.
Work Pattern:
35 hours per week - Monday to Friday - 8.45am to 4.45pm
This is a temporary position until 25/06/2025.
