We are currently working with a privately owned reputable builder who is looking for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to assist in the construction and delivery of 3 & 4-bedroom luxury detached houses in the Ormskirk area.
As the Assistant Site Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining health and safety, overseeing the sub-contractors, and coordinating labour and trades whilst working alongside the Site Manager and continuously maintaining a hands-on presence throughout. You will be involved in all aspects of the build, and their ethos is to develop their assistants so they can go on to manage future developments.
This scheme consists of around 67 units, and the follow-on scheme is a new development of over 130 x 3, 4 & 5-bedroom houses.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the safety and welfare of the public, staff, and supply chain within their control under the strict observance of the safety policy.
* Work safely, stopping work if unsafe and speaking up to address any safety concerns.
* Participate in safety initiatives.
* Supervise the day-to-day delivery of construction projects, including quality, time, procurement, and contractors, as well as supervising sub-contractors and monitoring contractor attendance and progress, providing direct instruction as necessary.
* Ensure that detailed plans are followed so that materials/resources/supply chain can be delivered to meet the overall project plan.
* Ensure all materials delivered to site meet production needs.
* Identify all additional work and ensure the site team is fully aware of all potential opportunities and risks.
* Communicate any project issues/risks to the site team to ensure they are fully aware of project progress and notified of all financial, specification, and time risks.
* Embrace learning and development opportunities.
* Help to identify opportunities for improvement.
* Embrace sustainable practices relevant to your role, helping to identify opportunities for improvement.
Experience/Qualifications/Requirements:
* Relevant Degree, HNC Construction.
* Trade background preferred.
* Must be from a housebuilding background.
* Demonstrate career stability.
* SMSTS.
* CSCS card holder.
* First Aid Certificate.
* Current full UK driving license.
