We are looking to recruit a Principal Accountant to provide accounting and financial advice and support on all aspects of capital budgets, capital expenditure, capital financing and other technical capital accounting areas. Applications are invited from a dynamic and forward thinking CCAB qualified Accountant to provide financial and accounting support across the Council on all aspects of capital accounting.
Primarily the post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating the financial information on capital budget setting, capital budget monitoring and reporting, capital expenditure and funding, and year-end statement of accounts closure for those areas.
Ideally, you will have experience and/or knowledge of Local Authority technical accounting specifically in relation to capital. You must have an aptitude for understanding and interpreting changes in accounting standards and to the recommended code of practice. You must be an organised and adaptable individual who is able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines in order to meet team objectives and council/statutory timescales and targets.
