Location: CMS-6
Schedule: 36 Hours (Nights / Every Third Weekend/Rotating Holidays)
About the Med-Surg CMS-6 Department at St Elizabeth Medical Center:
One of SEMC’s Medical-Surgical Units, CMS-6 is a 16-bed unit providing care for intermediate level medical-surgical patients. The patient population consists of post-operative and surgical specialty patients including cardiothoracic and vascular surgery.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As an RN on CMS-6, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model, you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve. CMS-6 also provides step-down level of care and the opportunity to become PCC (Progressive Critical Care) Certified.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Deliver nursing care, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
* Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families.
* Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
* Update and manage patient records.
* Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
* Follow guidelines and policies established by SEMC’s nursing organization.
* Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
* Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), with the ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
* 1+ years of RN experience preferred; new grads welcome to apply.
* Certification in basic life support (BLS).
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification completed during orientation.
* PCC Certification required within 1 year of hire, which is offered by the hospital.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
* Basic computer proficiency.
* Fluency in another language is a plus.
