Job Description:
Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Booking Clerk within our Specialist Medicine CAU. We have two positions available, one based at Maidstone Hospital, and the other at Tunbridge Wells Hospital.
We are looking for hardworking, organized individuals, who have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and use initiative.
The role involves booking outpatient appointments, answering telephone calls, and monitoring waiting lists in line with Trust policy.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a varied role.
The Specialist Medicine Team is a friendly, hardworking group of staff that work as a team. They are flexible and also work independently. If you think you have the necessary skills and experience and would like to join our team, this could be a suitable position for you.
You will need to have excellent communication skills, especially working with the general public, as well as being dedicated to providing an efficient and effective service. You will be working closely with members of the Clinical Admin Unit to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner.
Main duties of the job
* Plan and coordinate outpatient clinics working in close liaison with your team.
* Exercise initiative, exercise independent judgment, and decision-making in situations arising.
* Facilitate service improvement to streamline a patient's journey and ensure the Trust delivers a quality service and gold standard of patient care.
* You will be IT literate, able to meet deadlines, and have attention to detail. Knowledge of Allscripts would be highly desirable but is not essential, as training will be provided. You must be methodical and organized and thrive on making a genuine difference.
Please note that this role may attract a high level of applications and may close earlier than the original deadline. Please submit your application promptly.
