Key Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Science lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with the potential for Key Stage 5) Create engaging, challenging, and differentiated learning experiences for students of all abilities Assess and track student progress, providing regular feedback to support their development Develop a variety of teaching strategies and resources to maintain students’ interest in the subject Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and active learning Take part in departmental meetings, school development plans, and extracurricular activities Contribute to the wider school community by engaging with parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders to support student learning Ensure the safe use of scientific equipment and maintain a well-organised and secure laboratory environment Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Specialism in Science (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics – or General Science is acceptable) Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and examination specifications A proven track record of effective classroom management and engaging teaching methods Ability to plan and deliver lessons that meet the needs of all students, including those with additional learning needs Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Passion for science education and the ability to inspire students to explore scientific concepts beyond the classroom A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement Desirable: Experience of teaching A-Level or a similar post-16 qualification Experience in contributing to extracurricular activities such as science clubs, science fairs, or trips Knowledge of STEM initiatives and promoting these within the curriculum Location: Tameside Start Date: ASAP (Full-time, long-term contract with the potential for permanent placement) Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications) This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school with a strong commitment to academic excellence.
