This role will be expanding the existing team, and focus on conducting nature, carbon and biodiversity assessments, evaluating the impacts of various land-use and management changes, including regenerative agriculture, on carbon, biodiversity and ecosystems. You will play a crucial role in helping farmers and land managers to understand and mitigate the environmental impacts across multiple projects and supply chains, ensuring that carbon or biodiversity is considered at every stage of development. You will be supporting CSX’s missions of connecting the dots between landowners and businesses to deliver nature based solutions. Empowering land managers to obtain a sustainable financial return for managing their land and producing food in ways that benefit the environment. To learn more visit www.csxcarbon.com Key Responsibilities Conduct desk based and on-site comprehensive nature based carbon and/or biodiversity assessments, produce reports ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. Evaluate the environmental impacts of land-use changes, including regenerative agriculture practices, assess and produce reports of their effects on carbon and/or biodiversity. Collaborate with internal teams across various departments to develop and refine our nature reporting processes. Implement scalable assessment processes, including the Biodiversity Net Gain metric, BNG, across a range of project types and sizes. Report findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of the assessments and recommended actions. Essential Skills & Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to diverse audiences. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. Demonstrated critical and innovative thinking when approaching project challenges, whilst also maintaining adaptability. A driven and focused approach to your work, with a passion for conservation and environmental stewardship. Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work well in cross-disciplinary teams. A solid understanding of terrestrial ecology and biodiversity. A relevant environmental degree or qualification in a similar field. Full UK Driving Licence and flexibility, ability and willingness to travel and undertake site visits and field work across the UK. Comfortable and familiar with Excel and Word. Desirable Skills Knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain and its implications for planning and development. Familiarity with various UK habitats and habitat classification systems, such as UKHab. Understanding of habitat restoration and the broader environmental benefits it can offer. Our Offer A full-time role with CSX.
