Lab Test Technician Contract - Min 4 months Work pattern: Night shift (6pm - 6am) - Monday to Thursday (PAYE or Outside IR35 available) Onsite working in NW London Our client Our client is a well-backed, London-based Clean-Tech Start-Up, developing innovative solutions for green hydrogen production. The opportunity: Our client needs x2 Lab Test Technicians to work on the night shift, running and monitoring the test rigs. You’ll work with high pressure, intermediate temperature test stands, carrying out the test plans and the projects they’re contributing to. Strong mechanical assembly skills are essential for this role. Accountabilities: Conducting high-quality testing to support product development Assembly and disassembly of test hardware and test equipment Adhering to test procedures to meet research and development requirements Assisting in the improvement of testing procedures and processes to enhance the quality and consistency of testing Calibrating and maintaining equipment Meeting testing deadlines as per the plan Reporting any variances or issues that affect test results Collaborating with a team to achieve goals Strictly following all safety and operating procedures in the lab Coordinating and communicating work with the wider team The ideal candidate will possess: Experience in lab-based research/testing Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a team-oriented attitude Experience in maintaining and operating test stands Knowledge of risk assessments & good lab practice. Knowledge of laboratory health and safety protocols Ability to understand and execute standard operating procedures Familiarity with unexpected results or issues Additional desirable qualifications include: Experience in electrolyser cell system testing Basic knowledge of data logging and hardware control Experience in automation, high-throughput experimentation, data science, programming, and research development Knowledge of HAZIDs and HAZOPs Training in first aid and fire warden for a lab/workshop environment High-level understanding of electrochemical technology and equipment for troubleshooting purposes
