Your role
We are seeking a full-time Forest School Manager to lead and develop our forest school programmes. Responsibilities include designing and delivering programmes for all ages, fostering partnerships, seeking funding, and supporting the team of Forest School Leaders and Outdoor Instructors. You will also engage in outdoor activities aligned with business needs.
What will the job entail?
Your Responsibilities
* Design and deliver forest school programmes following best practices
* Develop partnerships with educational organisations
* Identify and pursue funding opportunities with the Outdoor Education Manager
* Oversee and support the team of Forest School Leaders and Instructors
* Manage budgets and expenses
* Maintain records and ensure GDPR compliance
* Stay updated on industry trends
* Coordinate with HR on recruitment, induction, and training
* Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback
* Communicate with participants and families
* Ensure smooth programme operations
* Support the wider Explore Outdoor team as needed
You will need:
* Strong communication skills with service users, staff, and stakeholders
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Full UK driving licence and confident driving
* Good planning and deadline management skills
* Experience in designing and implementing similar programmes (advantageous)
Qualifications:
* Level 3 Forest School Leader - essential
* First Aid - essential
* Safeguarding - advantageous
* Educational background - advantageous
Additional training in activities like archery, mountain biking, and axe throwing will be provided.
