Are you an experienced Midwife looking for a new challenge? Then this could be the job for you! Northumbria Healthcare Trust are currently recruiting for a Safeguarding Named Midwife to work in our safeguarding Team. This is an exciting opportunity in a diverse and fast paced environment.
The post holder will be the lead for Safeguarding midwifery in the trust working with Named Nurse for Safeguarding children and Team Lead for Adult Safeguarding to ensure that the delivery of safeguarding is safe and has a robust governance and performance management framework.
Main duties of the job
To contribute to the delivery of a proactive, responsive, specialist safeguarding and Acute Learning Disability Liaison service as part of the Northumbria Healthcare. Working in partnership with staff and key stakeholders, to deliver specialist safeguarding children and adult training and to provide specialist safeguarding supervision for clinical and non-clinical staff.

The post holder will be the lead for Safeguarding midwife working with the Named Nurse for Safeguarding children and Team Lead for Adult Safeguarding to ensure that the delivery of safeguarding is safe and has a robust governance and performance management framework.

Qualifications & Professional Registration
* Registered Midwife with NMC
* BSc (Hons) Midwifery and Neonatal care or equivalent experience
* Registered Mentor
* Training and assessing qualification
Experience & Knowledge
* Significant experience working with children, young people and families including those who are vulnerable which is equivalent to masters level or demonstrative through short courses and experience.
* Experience of delivering supervision
* Experience of leading and managing staff/teams.
* Extensive experience providing safeguarding advice and expertise to fellow professionals, and work with a range of statutory and non-statutory agencies to assist in providing a multiagency approach to safeguarding.
* Experience of working within a multiagency child protection framework.
Skills & Abilities
* Evidence of continuing professional development in safeguarding.
* Training and assessing qualification.
Other Requirements
* It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving licence and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role.
