We are seeking to recruit 2 dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to the post of Senior Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service Worker within the Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service, for Renfrewshire HSCP.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide a range of services to individuals and their families experiencing drug and/or alcohol related problems. You will be expected to assess the impact of parental substance use on children, establish links with other agencies and professionals in relation to joint working, and provide advice and guidance for individuals, families and groups known to the Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience within a dynamic team and improve service delivery for families impacted by alcohol and/or drug use.
Experience of supporting individuals with alcohol and drug problems is essential, as well as a SVQ Level 4 in Social Care/Community Care, or equivalent, and already gained or have the potential to achieve degree level. You must also demonstrate commitment to CPD.
You must have working knowledge and experience of current approaches required within Recovery Orientated Systems of Care, GIRFEC, Child Protection, and Adult Protection, along with experience of directly applying a range of therapeutic and clinical interventions in the context of alcohol and drugs, both individually and in groups.
It is essential you have basic IT skills, the ability to prioritise your own workload and that of staff under your supervision, a responsible approach to sensitive information, and supervisory/management experience of staff.
A positive view of the welfare of individuals and families experiencing difficulties related to alcohol and drugs, along with the ability to support staff in developing their personal skills to promote good practice through supervision and training, is also essential.

Registration with SSSC, or another recognised regulatory body, or achieving registration within 6 months of taking up employment is mandatory.
Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 24 months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is earlier.
