Salary: £35, 000 - £40,000 plus bonus potential
Hours of work: 40 hour working week, with a 1-hour break (Monday to Friday, weekends and evenings will be required)
Role Overview
The primary objective of this position is to enhance business growth and drive event sales within The Nest and the Meadow Lane suites through spreading the word across Nottinghamshire with local people, communities and businesses. You will work closely with the Head of Commercial Sales in optimising the full potential of the Hospitality spaces on offer at Meadow Lane.
As the Events and Sales Manager, you will be the first point of contact for clients relating to their non-matchday events. In addition to this, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end operations by supporting on the day to ensure all events operate smoothly and efficiently, managing the operations, physical set up and all relevant paperwork, ensuring every customer leaves happy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement event plans, timelines and budgets.
2. Be responsible for the development and sales of events within the Nest and support Club wide initiatives when required.
3. Work with the Commercial Sales team to develop a proactive up-selling culture to maximise sales, as well as working with a variety of partners, platforms and suppliers to develop and promote new events.
4. Manage event staff and volunteers to ensure efficient operations.
5. Analyse market trends to identify customer needs and sales potential.
6. Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing partners.
7. Hands on with the day-to-day operations, including duty management, regular line cleaning and stock movement/rotations, liaising with the Head Chef on food and drink requirements, room setups and other specific client requests.
8. Ensure that procedures to support compliance to licensing, safety or other legislation are carried out.
9. Manage the ongoing services and compliance of suppliers and contractors as required, including but not limited to maintenance, security, sanitary and cleaning.
10. Work with the Delivery Team on any non-matchday events such as business meetings, conferences, weddings, training programmes, fairs, birthdays, and other celebration events at the Meadow Lane Stadium.
11. Manage staffing levels for matchday and non-matchday events specific to the catering department.
12. Be responsible for new starter inductions, the paperwork and the monitoring and administering of working hours to ensure accurate payroll processing.
13. Develop a good understanding of the Notts County Football Club events portfolio.
14. Keyholder for the stadium.
15. Build robust administrative processes to support the Venue Hire operation and smooth communications cross-departmentally.
16. Produce effective reporting of events.
Person Specification
1. Understand the events market in Nottingham, both B2B and B2C, with emphasis on B2C.
2. A robust background in proactive sales and promotion, with a keen understanding of market demands and client profiling.
3. Have experience of promoting successful events to a wide range of target markets.
4. Personal License Holder.
5. First class communication and tech skills, AV equipment, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
6. An excellent understanding of live events and logistics planning.
7. Previous experience in a Food and Beverage/Hospitality role in a similar environment.
8. Appreciation of quality service and a keen eye for detail.
9. Strong administrative and organisational skills.
10. Must be able to work under pressure, at business-critical times, multi-tasking, and prioritising workloads as necessary.
11. Creative problem-solving abilities to handle unexpected challenges during events.
12. Flexible approach to work, and working hours, and understands that due to the nature of the business, will be required to work evenings and weekends, when required.
13. Understand the need to be sensitive and confidential in relation to information and data and understands the principles of GDPR in relation to the management of personal and sensitive data and information.
14. Excellent customer service skills.
15. Experience in line management, briefing and motivating mixed teams of staff.
16. Experience of working under pressure, to tight deadlines and producing accurate results.
17. Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety and Fire Regulations.
