PE Global is currently recruiting for a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer on behalf of our public sector client. This is an initial 12-month contract hybrid role in Dublin.
The Senior Civil/Structural Engineer position will be based in the Civil, Environmental & Renewables Engineering Group within Engineering and Major Projects. This includes the delivery of civil engineering services from feasibility through construction stage of maintenance projects for hydro and thermal stations and their associated infrastructure. The role includes the inspection of these assets, the audit of their maintenance in line with agreed procedures, preparation of tender packages for civil maintenance projects, and the provision of structural advice through structural calculations/drawings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Promote and lead the safety management culture across all activities by taking ownership and demonstrating visible commitment to safety.
2. Ensuring that Quality Procedures are implemented on all projects.
3. Providing civil, structural engineering technical expertise and advice from project concept through to detailed design and construction.
4. Leading, managing and coordinating all relevant civil/structural engineering and associated disciplines’ activities required to successfully deliver projects to approved scope, budget and programme including the management of civil works contracts.
5. Managing engineering work package(s) relating to the delivery of electricity infrastructure projects as required including scoping, procuring, technical assessment and contract management.
6. Building and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
1. Developed a competent level of expertise in the delivery of civil/structural engineering packages.
2. A strong commercial and project management capability.
3. Demonstrated a strong capability in assessing, communicating and managing project critical technical risks.
4. Strong communication and report writing skills.
5. Minimum 7 years relevant experience.
6. Full driving licence and access to a car.
Desirable
1. Demonstrated a record of successfully managing significant projects or aspects of significant projects of a multi-disciplinary nature.
2. The demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
3. A strong ability to identify project work requirements and to initiate necessary work with limited oversight.
4. A proven ability to work as part of a project team.
5. Experience in performing PSDP or PSCS role on projects.
Qualifications
Essential
1. Level 8 Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
