Job Overview Projection Education is dedicated to providing best-in-class specialist services and changing children’s lives for the better. We are seeking an motivated and dedicated Head of Education to join our team from September 2024. The successful candidate will lead our Learning Support Team and Teachers as well as playing a key role in the operational and educational leadership of our Learning Centers. Role Responsibilities Leadership and Management: lead and manage our Teaching Team to deliver high-quality and impactful support across the Learning Centers support the CEO and SEND Lead in the day-to-day management of the school, including staff absence and cover oversee the curriculum and learning outcomes across all students manage the Health and Safety responsibilities across our main learning Center. Educational Excellence: plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons, demonstrating outstanding teaching and learning practices lead the development and implementation of our inclusive learning strategy and bespoke curriculum ensure safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made monitor and evaluate school provision to raise standards and achievement take a leading role in the pastoral care, including behaviour management, child protection, and safeguarding. Operational Responsibilities: lead on statutory assessment and testing, internal assessment, and tracking systems identify strategies to overcome individual pupils' barriers to learning ensure compliance with legislation and Projection Education values. Development and Professional Growth: promote outstanding practice and champion inclusion within the school schedule and complete half-termly supervisions with teachers lead high-quality professional learning and development sessions for staff. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: expert understanding of innovative pedagogy and SEND needs, including SEMH knowledge of the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) experience with assessment across all Key stages strong leadership skills to motivate, inspire, and support staff excellent knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour management, and strategies for closing the gap ability to teach a range of subjects from KS1 to KS4, and a willingness to learn new subject knowledge as necessary effective communication skills with pupils, staff, parents, and external agencies. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) relevant degree or Level 5 qualification at least five years' post-qualified teaching experience proven track record of leading whole-school improvement experience as a primary, secondary, or SEND teacher SENCO qualification (desirable) DSL experience knowledge of careers guidance, including the Gatsby Benchmark (desirable).
