Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy have a great opportunity and are seeking to appoint a Student Services Officer who will support students across the academy with attendance, with their behaviour for learning and their emotional wellbeing. Student Services Officers (SSO) will work in partnership with Student Support Managers (SSMs) and College teams to ensure that the needs of the students are met. Challenging and logging punctuality when allocated to the start of day duty rota is an important role in assisting with reducing lateness in the academy. SSOs also coordinate the smooth running of the Curriculum Support Centre. SSO s lead on the Behaviour Improvement Programme initiative. SSOs will also lead on attendance On-Calls as students are settled into lessons. There may also be the opportunity to take on the role of Mental Health Lead, with training provided. This would involve liaising with external agencies for example NHS trailblazers and external counsellors who provide on-site support for identified students, as well as overseeing external speakers delivering assemblies and workshops. This is a permanent position offering an actual salary of 22,431 per annum ( 26,079 full-time equivalent) based on working 37 hours per week, term time 1 week of inset.
