The LYCRA Company has an exciting opportunity for ambitious, hard-working and motivated individuals, who are keen to undertake an Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship within the manufacturing sector.
Our four-year Engineering Apprenticeship Programme is delivered in partnership with the North West Regional College (NWRC) and is approved by Engineering Training Awards, City and Guilds and Pearson BTEC.
The Engineering Apprenticeship Programme will offer you the opportunity to gain practical, hands on experience working on manufacturing equipment, systems and processes at our Maydown site, combined with day-release at NWRC.
If you are successful in gaining a place on our Apprenticeship Programme, the content will be as follows:
* Years 1 & 2: Completion of NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations, Level 2 City & Guilds Diploma in Engineering and BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Engineering.
* Years 3 & 4: Completion of NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance.
Completion of the four-year Apprenticeship will result in:
* An Industry Recognised Apprenticeship;
* A Level 3 National Vocational Qualification (ETCAL Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance); and
* BTEC qualification (Level 3 National Diploma in Engineering).
Following completion, there will be opportunities for further career development and salary progression within the Company.
Essential Criteria
* You must be aged 16 years old or over by 1st July 2024.
* A minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above, or equivalent, (or expecting to receive these by August 2024), which must include English, Maths and one Science-based subject.
* Team-player with good communication skills.
* Committed, self-motivated and willing to apply yourself to the demands of the Apprenticeship Programme.
* Demonstrates behaviours driven by ethics and compliance.
Desirable Criteria
* Previous, relevant work experience.
* Can demonstrate examples of practical, hands-on experience.
All the above criteria may be further enhanced to shortlist for interview.

Salary: Competitive salary. Minimum rates are as follows:
Year 1 - £12,600
Year 2 - £17,325
Year 3 - £18,900
Year 4 - £22,575
Salary on completion - £28,350
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm, Friday 8am to 3.30pm.
