The successful candidate can expect to earn in the region of circa £35,000 - £37,000 per annum within the first year of appointment. This will increase as the candidate progresses through the Scale point increments. The salary also comprises of participation in an Emergency Out of Hours rota and supervisory attendances for planned and unplanned overtime with levels of reimbursement commensurate with Neath Port Talbot Policies and appropriate hourly rate multipliers The appointed Team Leader must be flexible with shared responsibility specific to gang sizes, to work at other SWTRA Depots to suit business needs. The successful candidate will lead a team of up to 8 directly employed SWTRA operatives and will be responsible for work/task allocation, plant and materials and records on a job-by-job basis. To carry out pre-planned / reactive routine and cyclic highway maintenance functions along the trunk road network, in accordance with Welsh Governments Trunk Road Maintenance Manual (TRMM) and Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council policies / procedures. Work will include, but not be limited to, the maintenance / repair of carriageway surfacing, vehicle restraint systems, fencing, signage, drainage assets along with the maintenance of verges and soft estate and other associated highway infrastructure and equipment. In addition, and as and when required, deputise for or coordinate the work of a supervisor and / or skilled operative in the event of short-term absence of a Supervisor or Skilled Operative
