Our client, a large Tier 1 rail contractor based in Central London, is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Manager to join their team. This permanent role offers an excellent opportunity to support significant rail projects and lead on health, safety, and environmental issues within a dynamic industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide support, guidance, and advice on health and wellbeing matters.
Conduct focused project site health and wellbeing training as required.
Offer support, guidance, and advice to both office and site locations on health matters, adhering to health & safety policies and procedures.
Conduct weekly site safety inspections, ensuring action plans are communicated and implemented.
Review project site work package plans, task briefing sheets, method statements, and risk assessments.
Generate and conduct toolbox talks, safety alerts, and assist in customer/principal contractor briefings.
Conduct formal monthly process-focused environmental audits on projects, ensuring improvement actions are issued and implemented.
Support and contribute to binding and winning work within the rail business.
Job Requirements:
In-depth understanding of health and safety legislation.
Previous experience working in infrastructure sectors such as rail, tunnelling, or energy.
Experience as a Health and Safety Manager in a Tier 1/2 organisation.
Experience in conducting accident and incident investigations.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Qualifications:
PTS Certification.
NEBOSH/NCRQ Diploma.
ISOH Membership.
Internal Auditor - ISO45001.
UK Driving Licence.
MSc in Occupational Health & Safety Management (desirable but not essential).
