Our New Acorn School, Avonside School in Bristol, will have capacity for 72 pupils and is due to open August 2025. The school will be a co-educational provision for pupils with complex needs including SEMH.

Key Responsibilities
* Liaise with parents/carers about pupil needs
* Have day-to-day responsibility for the operation of the SEND policy
* Review and evaluate the breadth and impact of the SEND support the school offers
* Identify any patterns in the school’s identification of SEN and reflect on and reinforce the quality of teaching
* Be a point of contact for external agencies, especially the local authority (LA) and its support services
* Liaise with potential next providers of education
* With the Headteacher, develop an annual whole school SEN improvement plan
* Oversee all baselining and screening assessments
* Provide good channels of communication between the Headteacher, the education team, parents, carers and relevant multi-agencies.
