Job Description: What you'll do Our Automation Technician are highly skilled control engineers who head up a team in our workshop, in a key role that’s 80% hands-on, 20% admin. As team leader, they’re responsible for the maintenance, automation, and control of our sortation facility, which is equipped with the newest technologies: TIA Software, Stat 7 software, fibreoptic communications and others. General activities include: Managing the work of two engineers and two clerks Prioritising maintenance needs and assigning tasks to engineers Supporting engineers with repairs Inspecting work performed and signing off paperwork Advising on facility design and construction Providing health and safety training What does it take to troubleshoot our warehouse systems and keep our company operating? Minimum education qualification is HNC/HND in Automation/Robotics or any other control Engineering related subject. Very strong maintenance experience in a fully Automated warehouse environment. Able to effectively undertaking fault finding, diagnostics and modifications on control PLC systems i.e Siemens PLC 300, 400, 1200 and 1500 Excellent knowledge of IT/OT network communication protocols i.e Profinet, Profibus, Can-Bus, ModBus, Profi-safe, Fibre Optics and ASI Undertake fault finding, diagnostics, modifications and maintenance tasks via SCADA. Familiarity with Indusoft would be preferred. Read and interpret Electrical, Pneumatics and Mechanical drawings, PLC codes on TIA Portal and Step 7 Simatic Manager Experience working with Conveyor systems Carry out repairs, replacement and modifications on Gearbox motors, Permanent Magnet motors, VFD/VSD, Power Supply. Demonstrate knowledge of Safety Control systems components and its communication protocol. i.e. (SIL 3 safety relays, Safety PLC, Profi-safe, Redundancy etc.) Exposure with Belt Lacing, Vulcanizing and other belt replacement methodologies. Leadership qualities Experience within the Post Parcel Logistics Space Experience working with Machine Vision systems i.e Barcode Scan Tunnel Exposure working with Sortation Equipment. Nice to Have A bachelor’s degree in Automation/Control Engineering or any other control Engineering related subject. Ability to write/modify PLC codes using SCL, STL, C++ and Python Languages Familiarity with CMMS program, Maximo.
