Reconciliations Analyst
Working at our iconic office in Morley, Leeds and virtually via Microsoft Teams.
Your new role at NewDay
An opportunity to work as part of the Finance reconciliation team, you will be accountable for reconciliation of key bank and internal control accounts, processing over 1 million transactions per day via an automated reconciliation tool. You will process financial data, provide reporting, and maintain documentation to a high standard of accuracy.
* Performance of daily reconciliation activities, including the running of daily filters, interactive matching, and escalation of aged items.
* Ensure that monthly ledger reconciliations, adjustments, and transfers are performed timely and accurately to minimize write-offs.
* Analyse and interpret financial data to identify discrepancies and highlight them to key stakeholders such as operations.
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the department to deliver defined business improvements.
* Ensure that processes and procedures are fully documented and that reconciliations owned are completed according to NewDay Reconciliation Policies.
What you’ll bring
We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:
* Solid understanding of accounting principles with at least 1 year of experience.
* Familiarity with relevant regulations.
* Ability to analyze and present large sets of numerical data.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Strong communication abilities.
* High attention to detail.
* Self-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Ambitious, with strong problem-solving skills.
* Excellent organizational and planning capabilities.
And would love you to know or learn:
* Knowledge of SUN general ledger and ReconNet Reconciliation application.
* Some work experience in an accounting environment.
