We know that an effective onboarding process is critical to setting our new joiners up for success, supporting them to have the best start into our organisation and to make a difference in their new role early on.
We have made good progress in achieving our vision and commitment to improve retention by transforming and improving our new starter experience and are proud we have achieved a significant reduction in our new hire attrition in the first year.
Our regular face-to-face induction day welcomes a range of new employees from Doctors to Cleaners, Porters, Physios, and many more professions and roles.
In this key role, you will make a difference by continuing the good work working collaboratively with new starters, managers, and key stakeholders to design, implement, and deliver an outstanding year once joining experience, helping to deliver a positive user experience for all our new joiners.
Main duties of the job
Reporting to our Lead for Recruitment, you will lead on a programme of activities and touch points that covers all aspects of the first-year journey into the Trust, which aims to develop knowledge and professional confidence for our new people.
Working with our Training and Education team, you will lead on the delivery of a bespoke and effective induction and statutory & mandatory training that includes a suite of programmes for the Trust, managing all aspects such as organising the speakers, timetables, materials, and evaluation of the new starter experience.
You will be the subject matter expert for induction and will advise across all professions on induction and training requirements.
To be successful in the role, you will have previous experience in a similar role leading on the design and delivery of induction programs to support the first year, ideally gained in a large organisation. Experience of working in an NHS organisation will be beneficial. You will have a proven experience of driving service improvements that create a positive starter experience.
