About The Role
We are currently looking for a Yardsperson/Relief Driver for our Great Yarmouth branch. If you already work in the construction industry and you are looking for a role where you are part of a team and have variety in your working week, we are the people for you!
The Pump Rental Team in Great Yarmouth has a great opportunity for a Relief Driver who will also support our branch yard, assisting with the day-to-day operations, loading, and unloading of our lorries and keeping our yard secure and organised.
You will need to be a committed, confident self-starter with a genuine interest in construction while carrying out tasks within our yard and ensuring timely delivery of our pumps and equipment to meet our customers' expectations.
Tasks and Responsibilities within the Yard:
* Keep the yard and workshops in a clean and tidy state at all times.
* Assist with loading and unloading of vehicles.
* Clean hire equipment prior to entry to the workshop.
* Communicate accurately with your supervisor, work colleagues, and customers.
* Comply with all PPE requirements.
LGV Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Ensure understanding and full compliance with Tachograph operation.
* Carry out a risk visual assessment prior to loading and unloading activities.
* Ensure all loading and unloading activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
* Provide safe installation of pumping equipment using a lorry mounted crane.
* Carry out daily maintenance and defect checks of the vehicle.
* Participate in on-call duties, which come with an allowance.
* Wash the vehicle exterior and clean the cab interior weekly to ensure the vehicle is clean and presentable.
* Maintain and securely hold the vehicle log book in the vehicle cab.
* Understand that company vehicles may be fitted with a satellite tracking device.
* Ensure all items and quantities match the branch paperwork.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
* LGV Licence (Class 1 is desirable but not essential).
* Hi-ab (hook) qualification is desirable.
* CPC and Digital Tachograph.
* Forklift Licence is desirable.
* Previous work history within a similar environment.
* Good communicator with a can-do attitude.
