Registered Learning Disabilities Home Manager
Location: Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset
Salary: £35,000–£39,000 (depending on experience)
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Learning Disabilities Home Manager to lead a well-established residential service for adults with learning disabilities. The home is rated Overall Good by CQC and located in a commutable area within Weston-Super-Mare, with free on-site parking available.
In addition to this residential service, our client’s management team also oversees nearby linked other small services supporting adults with less complex needs.
Who We Support
Our client provides person-centred care for disabled adults, always respecting each individual’s personal preferences, wishes, and choices. The aim is to empower people to live fulfilling lives in a supportive, inclusive environment.
The individuals living at the Weston-super-Mare residential service have a range of moderate to severe learning disabilities and other conditions. Current support needs include, but are not limited to:
* Learning disabilities (including Down’s Syndrome)
* Cerebral palsy
* Epilepsy
* Autism
* Dysphagia (swallowing difficulties)
* Sensory impairments
All individuals are either ambulant or use manual wheelchairs. While the home offers ground-floor wheelchair access to the communal areas, a downstairs bedroom, and bathroom, the upper floor is not suitable for powerchair users. The building has been adapted to meet the current needs and preferences of all residents.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for leading the service with passion, professionalism, and a commitment to quality. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and inspire the care team to deliver outstanding support
* Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, health and safety, and internal policies
* Manage budgets and ensure operational sustainability
* Oversee recruitment, training, supervision, and staff development
* Work proactively to improve the service and outcomes for the people supported
About You
To be considered, you will need:
* A recognised nursing or social care qualification and registration (as appropriate)
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
* Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within care
* Strong leadership, safeguarding, and regulatory knowledge
* A commitment to inclusive, person-centred care
