About the role
Havas Play is in search of a maverick player to join our department. Havas are on an upward trajectory, working with market leading brands with lots of momentum. We believe that strategy should be the engine of growth, central to the organisation and the ‘first person consult’ for our people and our clients.
Havas Play connects brands to fans through passions and purpose. Our services and capabilities are delivered by an in-house team across six divisions – Strategy, Creative, Activation, Content & Media Partnerships, Production and Measurement and Evaluation – enabling us to create and deliver truly 360, integrated campaigns whatever the brief.
In this role, you will:
1. Be responsible for the strategic quality of output for Havas Play, reporting directly into the Group Head of Strategy for the Havas Media Network.
2. Client Work: Be the growth enabler into new opportunities for clients across the agency and be the custodian of quality for Havas Play strategy, be the key person of contact for at least two Havas Play clients – strategic consult and strategic work (doing the doing as well as thinking and talking).
3. New Business: Hold the pen on the story, across any format and produce a clear bounce off point for creative teams to work from.
4. Craft daring thought leadership: support with leadership agency pieces and create your own individual pieces to be published in trade and wider press. Speak on industry panels, judge at awards and craft the award narratives.
5. Agency: Live Havas’ meaningfully daring philosophy to drive growth for clients and the Havas business. Be hungry to make changes to how we create strategies and be ever on the hunt to introduce new ways of solving old problems (both the agency’s challenges and our clients’).
6. Team: Foster a culture of curiosity and inspire the Play team, working with the GSD to truly be the driving engine force of both Play and the wider agency.

* Lateral thinking and against the grain mentality
* Storytelling and sell - The ability to develop a compelling narrative and sell ideas
* Sound marketing knowledge – from both the advertising and media world
* Brevity - the ability to boil down a problem and solution into a distinctive strategic bounce off point
* Master of language – expert craftsmanship + language
* Knowledge of the wider comms ecosystem including media, partnerships and sponsorship
* Understanding of measurement and effectiveness foundations
* A doer, not just a thinker – making sure your strategies are both well evidenced and activated
Musts:
Minimum 7 years’ experience, across ad (creative) agency with experience of working on partnerships and sponsorships.
Preferable:
Experience in sport and entertainment marketing inc. sponsorship.
Experience - media/branding/wider comms agency.
