Currently recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer on a permanent staff basis for a specialist engineering services provider based in Aberdeen. Although based out of Aberdeen, this role will involve travel to sites across Scotland, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential for this position.
The Project Engineer will manage projects (under CDM regulations) and will be involved in the estimation of initial queries, client liaison, preparation and maintenance of HSEQ documentation, commercial decision making, reporting, site set-up/establishment, new supply/manufacture/refurbishment of existing plant, equipment and components, management of sub-contractors and suppliers, and site commissioning.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Undertaking the management of projects as requested by the Divisional Manager.
* Managing onsite projects in accordance with the CDM Regulations 2015.
* Estimating projects (as per customer enquiries), scope of works, specifications and requirements.
* Planning and managing projects from initiation to completion.
* Creating, managing and maintaining all required HSEQ documentation for the projects. Customer liaison, meetings, reporting and communication.
* Commercial management of the projects.
* Undertaking HSEQ site audits and compiling reports.
* Organising and managing sub-contractors relating to the projects.
* Managing site supervisors and site personnel whilst onsite works are being undertaken.
* Project document control and certification.
* Reporting project progress, commercials and HSEQ to Divisional Manager.
* Making appropriate use of PPE at all times.
* Working to HSE ACOPs, customer rules and specifications, company/divisional work instructions and forms at all times.
Experience/Qualifications:
* An SVQ level 3 (or equivalent/higher) qualification as a minimum is essential.
* A full and clean UK driving licence is essential.
* Previous experience in a similar Project Engineer type role, directly within a mechanical/fabrication/piping engineering type environment, is essential.
* Applicants should have a practical mechanical/fabrication/piping background.
* Experience of working on CDM worksites would be preferred.
* Applicants should be accustomed to working to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
* Applicants should be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and BOMs.
