We are pleased to be recruiting for a Chartered Building Surveyor on behalf of a well-respected and growing multi-disciplinary consultancy. The role is largely field-based across Surrey and Kent, offering varied responsibilities and the autonomy to manage your own projects. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed inspections and provide expert advice on the design, construction, maintenance, and refurbishment of residential buildings. Deliver acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys, and defect investigations. Prepare high-quality reports, schedules of work, and technical specifications. Lead projects independently, including designing and overseeing works under recognised building contracts. Work with insurance providers to assess and manage repair projects. Apply relevant legislation, including CDM 2015, Party Wall Act, Building Regulations, and Planning requirements. Support junior team members and APC candidates through mentorship and knowledge sharing. Actively contribute to business development and represent the consultancy in a professional manner. Ensure compliance with company procedures and health & safety standards. Key Requirements MRICS qualified (essential). Strong experience across consulting engineering, surveying, and/or architectural practices. Proven expertise in defect diagnosis and technical report writing. Experience with insurance repair projects is highly desirable. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage large-value projects within deadlines and budgets. In-depth knowledge of CDM Regulations, Party Wall Act, and Building Regulations. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Solid IT skills with a methodical, problem-solving mindset. Flexible and adaptable, comfortable with a varied and dynamic workload.
