We are currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for our client who is based in Halifax. This role is for an experienced maintenance engineer with an electronic bias to perform proactive and reactive maintenance (PPM) for the machinery on the shop floor.
You will undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment within a corporate service environment. As an integrated member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for effective inspection, operation, and maintenance of all associated MEP assets within the critical facility, with a primary focus on critical facilities risk management, enhancing the quality of the service delivery through effective technical engineering capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
2. Manage and address electrical faults, ensuring timely corrective actions on critical machinery.
3. Collaborate with the supply chain to source necessary components for maintenance and repairs.
4. Operate and maintain MEP systems efficiently, with a focus on improving performance and reliability.
5. Respond to critical alarms and escalate issues as required, providing on-call support for 24/7 operations.
6. Work as an integral part of the engineering team to ensure risk management and quality service delivery.
7. Evaluate vendor performance and ensure high standards of maintenance work.
8. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including health and safety compliance.
9. Accurately complete and document work orders within SLA through the Corrigo system.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Electrical engineering with an electronic bias.
2. Proven maintenance experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
3. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and MEP systems.
4. Ability to work reactively and manage PPM schedules effectively.
5. Familiarity with health and safety standards and compliance.
6. Experience with CMMS systems (e.g., Corrigo) for tracking work orders is desirable.
7. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
