The Role: Delivering high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering a range of sports and fitness activities. Planning and implementing engaging lessons that develop students' technical skills, teamwork, leadership, and resilience. Encouraging all students to participate in sports and physical activities, promoting an inclusive and positive sporting culture. Organising and supervising extracurricular clubs, inter-school competitions, and sports teams in a variety of disciplines. Teaching students about the importance of physical health, well-being, and fitness, incorporating elements of nutrition, injury prevention, and mental health awareness. Supporting students who show potential in specific sports, helping them to develop their skills for county or national-level competitions. Contributing to the development of the PE curriculum, ensuring a broad and balanced offer for students of all abilities. Working collaboratively with colleagues in the PE department and wider school community to promote the value of sport and an active lifestyle. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field. Experience teaching PE at secondary level, with strong classroom and behaviour management skills. A passion for sport and fitness, with the ability to inspire students to lead healthy and active lives. Experience coaching or leading extracurricular activities in at least one major school sport (e.g., football, netball, athletics, rugby, hockey, basketball, or dance). Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
