Job Description:
Community Support Worker - Castlepoint
Our devoted and robust adult services team are looking for a male driver to support a wonderful gentleman living in the Castlepoint area. For this vacancy, we are looking for someone with longevity in the health and social care industry, specifically complex care.
For all 'hands-on' shift time with Harry, an additional 90p allowance is paid per hour.
The role:
Harry has 2:1 support seven days a week. He is non-verbal and communicates through Pecs, body language, gestures, and picture images.
Luckily, Harry has his own mobility car, so it is imperative the team member that joins us can drive. For Harry to feel at his best, he loves touching his sensory toys such as sound books, cuddly toys with noise, anything he can tap. Routine is also really important, and so Harry has two baths a day.
When at home, Harry loves watching things with lots of color, and his latest favorites are Thomas the Tank and CBeebies. His latest favorite music artist is Elton John, so be prepared to listen to his greatest hits!
This role would really suit a patient, relaxed, and dedicated person working round the clock to support Harry.
A support worker's day would include:
* Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community.
* Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments, and medication.
* Following the support plan in place for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on changes in behavior.
* Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, and medication.
Drivers with access to their own car for work is essential. We are unable to accommodate anyone who does not drive.
We deliver a 24/7 service and have various full and part-time hours available to suit your needs. To support Harry’s package, the hours would ideally be within 8am - 4pm or 4pm - 10pm with one sleep-in a week between Monday and Sunday.
* A rewarding job, full of variety and opportunities for career development.
* £300 welcome bonus upon joining our charity, £150 at three months, and £150 after probation (subject to performance).
* 12-week induction programme consisting of in-house training, e-learning, shadowing, coaching, and mentoring.
* The opportunity to complete an accredited qualification once you’ve passed your probation period.
* All colleagues have access to an internal learning portal so you can increase your skills and knowledge in the areas that interest you the most.
* Cycle to work scheme.
* Bespoke learning and development in key areas such as total communication, positive behavior techniques, and sign language.
* Up to 33 days annual leave pro-rata (including bank holidays).
* A generous employee referral scheme – you can earn £400 for each person you successfully refer!
* Benefits portal which gives you access to money off your favorite shops, restaurants, and great days out, along with a cashback healthcare plan for general day-to-day healthcare such as optical and dental.
* A 24 Hour Employee Assistance programme that provides practical information and support on issues like money management, family, and legal information.
* We also have a network of Mental Health First Aiders to provide support in the event you experience issues relating to your mental health.
Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy, you might need a work permit.
