Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

£130,000 - £140,000 + Guaranteed Bonus 15% + Benefits (13% pension, healthcare, holidays etc).
My client is a top tier investment management house based in St Pauls. This role is 2 Days a week hybrid.
Overview
Cloud Engineering is a centre of excellence for cloud technology at my client. They are a team of experts who deliver cloud solutions to all areas of the business. You will be a leading member of our team where you will analyze, design, build, and evolve cloud infrastructure solutions and patterns to support my clients technology program. Your knowledge, creativity, and ability to innovate helps keep their solutions on the cutting edge, and your keen eye for detail and focus on operational excellence ensures that their solutions are reliable, sustainable, and efficient.
Qualifications and Experience Profile
* Typically has 8+ years of relevant experience
* Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of experience and relevant qualifications
* Proven experience and knowledge of either Azure or AWS cloud platforms
* Expert knowledge of container runtime platforms such as AWS ECS, EKS or Azure AKS
* Expert knowledge of Hashicorp Terraform and HCL
* Comprehensive software development and testing expertise, including CI/CD
* Demonstrable ability to design and refactor software to be maintainable and malleable
* Strong knowledge of modern security principles and technology, including authentication, authorization, policies and secrets management
* Relevant cloud certifications a bonus
* Experience writing Java and Groovy, or similar languages
* Experience of mentoring, teaching and coaching other engineers up to senior level
* Experience of working in a regulated environment would be useful
Responsibilities
* Maintaining an awareness and understanding of evolving cloud technology
* Provide leadership for other technology teams in using cloud services effectively, securely and efficiently
* Producing and delivering training materials for cloud services to our technology teams
* Leading major projects to evolve and modernize our cloud deployments
* Designing, providing and maintaining shared, reusable cloud deployment code and configuration
* Ensuring solutions meet relevant security and resilience standards, defining and refining those standards if necessary.
* Participate in an in-hours support rota for the components we are responsible for
* Working effectively as part of a globally-distributed team (US east coast and UK)
* Informing the creation of new technical policies and standards within the firm
* Advising management and external stakeholders on broad-ranging projects
